
Emily, who grew up on a farm outside of a small town of 200 people, brings a commitment to building relationships and a joyful heart to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Affairs with a minor in Ag Business from South Dakota State University (SDSU). Emily and her husband, Ethan, moved and remodeled the house they live in near Harrisburg.
What attracted you to Cornerstone? The sense of community and the company values. I felt comfortable with the team and culture from the beginning of the interview process.
What is the favorite part of your position at Cornerstone? Talking to clients and making connections! I also appreciate the commitment to continuous learning and growth, so we are always working to bring our best to our work with clients.
What is your goal when helping our clients? I strive to leave everyone better than when we met. I like to make sure people feel heard and understood as I know that is what I need myself sometimes! I believe in the golden rule - treat others the way you would like to be treated.
When was the last time you did something that challenged you for the first time? I had been with my previous employer for 4.5 years and changing jobs was a big step for me. It was definitely the right choice for me, but I had to step out of my comfort zone to make it happen.
What motivates you to work hard? My family and to also be able to enjoy and experience life!
What is something people might be surprised to learn about you? I have always been interested in hair and makeup and have gotten over 100+ girls ready for weddings and/or prom. I started doing proms at the age of 15 and did my first wedding at age 17!
