Cornerstone in the Community
Our commitment to service also extends into our communities. Many of our team members actively volunteer or donate to various nonprofit groups and foundations. It’s engrained in our team’s culture to serve others as we strive to make a difference in people’s lives – and it inspires the work we do for our clients.

Call to Freedom
Cornerstone is honored to support the Call to Freedom CommUnity Breakfast again this year - and it's going virtual! Call to Freedom provides supportive services for victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. It's hard to describe the impression last year's event made on those of us who attended - shock, heartbreak, hope and a sense of community all rolled into one. We invite you to this year's Community Breakfast, to be held virtually October 14th.

Feeding South Dakota
As part of our Miles for a Mission initiative, Cornerstone contributes to area causes based on the cumulative miles team members log. We were honored recently to make a $750 donation to Feeding South Dakota. The organization, which services 66 counties and nearly 875,000 people in South Dakota, has seen increased need for food assistance due to the challenges COVID-19 has presented for so many individuals. Although we can't be out in the community as much this year because of the pandemic, we are still working to having a positive impact.

Hunger Games is a community event to raise food for the Huron United Way's Backpack Program. Our team has been participating in the Hunger Games since 2016. A big thank you to Huron's Cindy Lowery for coordinating this year's Hunger Games! Huron would not be the amazing place it is without community volunteers like her.

South Dakota Salutes
Organizers of this two-day shooting event began it as a way to thank South Dakota's military personnel and first responders. We supported the event again this year, and helped promote volunteer opportunities through our social media channels.
SOUTH DAKOTA MILITARY HERITAGE ALLIANCE
Last week Gordon presented a $5,000 check to the SD Military Heritage Alliance, Inc., an organization working to create a place for support and services for military personnel and those who support them. Representing the SD Military Heritage Alliance to accept the check via Zoom were Brian Phelps & Gene Loos.

MARCH 15, 2019
RED is an acronym that stands for Remember Everyone Deployed. R.E.D. Friday was created to remind people of our heroes overseas and show that we are thinking of them. People across the country wear red every Friday to serve as a reminder and spread the message of how important it is that we keep our troops in our thoughts.
The staff of the Huron (left) and Sioux Falls (right) offices join the nation in remembering all those deployed.

March is MS Awareness Month
It's a great time to Save the Date and start training for the Huron MS Society Walk/Run at Lake Byron, Saturday, July 13th! Cornerstone has been a proud sponsor of this event since the first run in 2016 and it just keeps getting BIGGER and BETTER with evening entertainment, a bean bag tournament, and more. Hope to see you there!

On this day, many people wear red to promote heart-health awareness among women. CFS team members are wearing red today to encourage all women to keep their heart healthy.
